Russian strike on Kramatorsk, including city buses, kills at least 33
At least 33 people were killed and 18 wounded in Russian glide-bomb strikes on Kramatorsk on 8 October, a day after attacks across Ukraine killed at least 25, local authorities said.
Russian strikes on the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region on Thursday, 8 October, killed at least 33 people and wounded 18 others, according to regional authorities and prosecutors cited by RFE/RL. Passenger buses were among the targets, and The Kyiv Independent reported that glide bombs were used.
The attack came a day after a barrage on 7 October killed at least 25 people across Ukraine, including two in Kyiv, RFE/RL reported. With a fifth wartime winter approaching, Russian strikes have become more frequent and intense.
Kramatorsk is one of the largest cities still under Ukrainian control in Donetsk region — the region Moscow is demanding that Kyiv give up as a condition for peace.
