ChatGPT gets 'Intelligent UI': GPT-6 answers with interactive charts, diagrams and buttons
OpenAI is bringing its GPT-6 Sol and Luna models to ChatGPT together with a new interface that mixes text with interactive visuals and small in-chat tools. Paid users get it first; free and Go users follow on Thursday.
OpenAI on 7 October 2026 began rolling out Intelligent UI in ChatGPT — a feature that lets the chatbot answer with interactive visuals instead of text alone. It arrives together with the company’s GPT-6 models.
What changes
- Answers can now include diagrams, interactive charts, editable graphs, forms and tappable buttons. OpenAI’s examples include a bicycle diagram whose parts light up, a hiking map and a savings calculator.
- Users can ask ChatGPT to build small tools inside the chat, such as a bill splitter or a retirement calculator, The Verge reports.
- OpenAI says it trained GPT-6 to decide when a visual is more useful than text. The stated goal is to make “learning complex topics easier”.
- The amount of visuals is adjustable for people who prefer plain text.
Who gets it
- Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users get it from 7 October with the mid-range GPT-6 Sol model.
- Free and Go users get it from Thursday with the more efficient GPT-6 Luna.
OpenAI also says GPT-6 makes ChatGPT’s web search better and shows stronger resistance to attempts to bypass its safety training. These are company claims; independent tests have not yet been published.
