“Monsters in Siberia”: the Roblox horror game based on a book about a secret world behind the closet is gaining momentum

The Roblox game “Monsters in Siberia” is gaining momentum. According to Sardaana News, it is becoming one of the scariest horror games in the Roblox universe.

The game was created with the help of Opus 5.5 by Claude (Anthropic). Its plot directly matches the book “A secret world behind the closet in distant Alaas” by Alexander Afonskiy. The story is set in the Churapchinsky district of Yakutia (the Sakha Republic).

According to the publisher’s synopsis on Blackwell’s, the novel follows eighteen-year-old Chömchüüne Telles from Churapcha, who travels with friends to Kyndal, a distant alaas beyond the forest. There, in an old balagan, a wardrobe opens onto a passage where something is waiting — tied to the legend of the hostess Tuyaara Kilbes, who prepared a feast for guests who never arrived. The game’s balagan, wardrobe and shifting labyrinth mirror this premise.

According to the game page, “Monsters in Siberia” is a co-op survival horror set in the Siberian taiga and inspired by Yakut legends. Players walk a forest road from camp, past a wrecked red pickup with a crackling radio, to a lonely balagan by a lake. Inside stands a huge wardrobe with stairs leading down — and once the group descends, the door slams shut.

Below lies a labyrinth that changes every night. Players must find three key fragments and reach the true exit before dawn. Some staircases are traps, some chalk arrows lie, and when the bell rings, the doors shift. Eleven creatures hunt by sound and sight; players hide in cupboards and under tables, use a flashlight and stick together. A Yakut knife can temporarily destroy a monster, but it is not required to escape.

The game supports keyboard, touch and gamepad, and is available in English, Russian and Sakha (Yakut).
