Anrealage marks 25th Paris show with E Ink ‘SKIN’ dresses for SS27

Japanese label Anrealage, designed by Kunihiko Morinaga, staged its spring/summer 2027 collection “SKIN” at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, marking the house’s 25th show in Paris, Design Scene reported.

Clothing as a changing surface

Morinaga framed garments as a surface that can shed, renew and change — drawing on biological chromatophores and video-game “skins,” with the firebird (after Osamu Tezuka’s Phoenix) as a renewal motif. The show moved from second-skin all-in-ones toward engineered forms with scale layers; materials included Toray Ultrasuede, Japanese washi with translucent sequins, and KYOCERA FOREARTH water-saving textile technology. E Ink armor and a Firebird finale

Six armor-like cocktail and evening dresses each carried between 1,000 and 2,000 individually controlled E Ink electronic-paper scales that change color without emitting light; AI mapped the circuitry. Colors raced across the dresses before fading to ash gray. The presentation closed with an LED digital skin revived from the previous season, set to a live performance of the 1919 version of Stravinsky’s The Firebird. Morinaga described a future “third skin” — clothing that can repeatedly alter and renew.
