Chloé SS27: Chemena Kamali’s lacquered rainwear and Apple Martin’s debut

On 1 October at Paris Fashion Week, Chloé creative director Chemena Kamali showed Spring/Summer 2027 built around lacquered trenches, capes and storm-brim hats over soft tulle and lace, with Apple Martin making her runway debut, EVOKE and Dazed reported.

Chemena Kamali asked what the Chloé girl wears when the sun does not show up — and answered with rainwear for Spring/Summer 2027, shown in Paris on 1 October. Lacquered trench coats, swingy capes and wide-brimmed storm-flap hats came down the runway in canary yellow, glossy black and clear plastic over tulle petticoats, lace and ruffles, EVOKE reported.

Rain meets romance

A floor-length yellow slicker belted at the throat under a huge storm-flap hat became the show’s signature image, finished with gold strappy sandals and a beaded bag. Black cape-coats with flounced hems fell over cream petticoats. Clear plastic hats with smoked crowns, buckled white collars and chunky Chloé-branded aviators pushed the accessories story. Colour returned in a burnt-orange knit jumpsuit covered in three-dimensional flowers, and a cream cut-out swimsuit with petal appliqué.

Debut and front row

Dazed reported that Apple Martin — already a muse in Chloé’s À La Plage campaign — made her catwalk debut, joining Eva Herzigová, Edie Campbell, Mona Tougaard and Mariacarla Boscono. Front-row guests included Claudia Schiffer, Emma Mackey, Natasha Lyonne, Claire Danes and Cynthia Erivo. Kamali has led Chloé since October 2023; this season took her romantic, bohemian wardrobe outdoors into bad weather without losing the house’s soft codes.
