McCollough and Hernandez’s third Loewe SS27 show mixes sportswear and Baroque drama

On 2 October at Paris Fashion Week, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez presented their third Loewe collection at the Château de Vincennes, framing an “old world meets new world” dialogue of American sportswear and Spanish Baroque drama, WWD and Elle reported.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez staged their third collection for Loewe on Friday, 2 October, during Paris Fashion Week, on a white-box stage at the Château de Vincennes (Esplanade Saint-Louis), WWD and Elle reported.

Old world, new world

The designers framed the show as “old world meets new world”: American sportswear codes meeting Spanish Baroque drama, timed with Loewe’s 180th anniversary context. Looks included high-waisted trousers and skirts with open flaps, leather bombers, and a palette of citrus and pale blues alongside earthy tones. Former creative director Jonathan Anderson, now at Dior, was noted only as background to the house’s recent transition.

Silhouette and craft

Reviewers highlighted engineered volume at the hip, soft leather outerwear and a continued emphasis on craftsmanship after the duo’s first two Loewe seasons. The Vincennes setting underscored the house’s Spanish roots while the sportswear vocabulary nodded to the designers’ US background.
