Veronica Leoni to exit Calvin Klein Collection after four seasons
PVH-owned Calvin Klein said Veronica Leoni is leaving Collection after four seasons; a new creative director will be named “in due course.” Collection will continue as part of the brand’s long-term strategy, BoF reported.
Veronica Leoni is leaving Calvin Klein Collection after four seasons, the PVH-owned brand announced on Thursday, 15 October, The Business of Fashion reported. A new creative director will be named “in due course.”
The exit
- Leoni, previously at The Row and Phoebe Philo’s Celine, presented her final runway collection for Collection at New York Fashion Week in early September.
- Global brand president David Savman thanked her for a “fresh perspective on Calvin’s iconic design codes” and for building “cultural moments” around the shows.
- The move follows Savman’s comment last month that the brand was taking a “long-term view” and seeing “great progress” with Collection.
Business context
- Calvin Klein brand quarterly sales fell 7% in the latest earnings report; Collection was mentioned mainly as a reminder of the upcoming show, BoF noted.
- Collection returned in May 2024 after a six-year hiatus following Raf Simons’s exit in December 2018.
- The company said Leoni’s departure does not end Collection, calling it “an important part of Calvin Klein’s long-term strategy and the pinnacle expression of the brand.”
