Quince opens in the UK, its first market outside North America
The San Francisco direct-to-consumer retailer launched a UK site on 19 October with apparel, kids' wear and home goods, free delivery and a 365-day returns window. The move follows a $500 million round earlier in 2026 that valued Quince at about $10.1 billion.
U.S. online retailer Quince went live in the United Kingdom on Monday, 19 October, its first expansion beyond North America, FashionUnited and Business of Fashion reported.
UK assortment and pitch
The regional site offers womenswear, menswear, children’s clothing and homeware, with free delivery and a 365-day returns policy. Head of international Laurent Duray called Britain a “discerning market” and said the company is adapting fashion and home textiles to local weather and living habits; early feedback, he added, has stressed surprise at “luxury quality for high-street price points.”
Chief merchandising officer Matt Lippert framed the UK as a proving ground: shoppers there know cashmere, linen and leather well, so accessible pricing should demonstrate that quality was never the reason for premium markups once supply-chain inefficiencies are removed.
Funding backdrop and growth model
The launch follows a $500 million funding round earlier in 2026, led by Iconiq, that valued the business at about $10.1 billion (FashionUnited; BoF rounded the figure to $10 billion). Founded in 2019 in San Francisco, Quince says it has logged triple-digit year-on-year growth and sells across more than 100 categories. It uses AI to track demand by product and size and publishes cost breakdowns covering materials, manufacturing, packaging, shipping and fees.
Design disputes and “dupe” scrutiny
The same low-price model has drawn lawsuits from established brands over allegedly lookalike products. In 2025, Coach sued over two handbags said to resemble its Rogue and Soho Flap styles; the parties agreed to dismiss the case in June 2026, each covering its own costs. Ugg owner Deckers also sued over boots resembling the Classic Ultra Mini; in June 2026 a jury invalidated the design patent and the court entered judgment for Quince.
Whether British shoppers treat Quince as affordable quality or as a dupe marketplace will shape how far the brand can push Europe after this first non-North American beachhead.
