Lady Gaga becomes CEO of her beauty brand Haus Labs after co-founder Ben Jones exits
The singer takes over commercial leadership of Haus Labs effective immediately, on top of the creative direction and product development she has led since 2019.
Lady Gaga has become chief executive of her beauty brand Haus Labs, effective immediately, The Business of Beauty (part of BoF) reported on Thursday. Co-founder and former CEO Ben Jones left the company earlier this month.
What changes
Gaga, whose given name is Stefani Germanotta, will now oversee the commercial side of the business in addition to creative direction and product development, which she has led since the launch in 2019.
“I have a lot of vision for this brand, and we have so much more we want to do,” she said in a statement to The Business of Beauty.
Jones said he was confident she would “take the brand to even greater heights.”
Background
- Haus Labs launched in 2019 as Haus Laboratories, exclusively on Amazon, after a Series A round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
- In 2022 it relaunched as Haus Labs by Lady Gaga with Sephora; its Triclone Skin Tech foundation became a Sephora bestseller.
- The reshuffle follows the August exit of chief marketing officer Angela Simpson, who joined Patrick Ta.
