London Fashion Week: Accredited buyers rise 19% as online buzz falls
The British Fashion Council reported a 19% year-on-year rise in accredited buyer attendance for SS27, with international buyers up 41%. Online posts about the week fell 57% and earned media value dropped 24% to $27.3 million, Glossy reported.
London Fashion Week drew more physical buyers even as online conversation cooled, according to Glossy’s Luxury Briefing on 25 September citing British Fashion Council and media-measurement data.
Buyers back in the room
The BFC said accredited buyer attendance rose 19% year on year for the Spring/Summer 2027 season. International buyers were up 41%. BFC chief executive Laura Weir highlighted the return of buyers as a signal of commercial confidence in the London calendar.
Soft online metrics
Posts about the week fell 57% year on year. Earned media value dropped 24% to $27.3 million, according to Lefty / Insights by Karla Otto data cited by Glossy. Burberry’s Instagram earned media value was $10.8 million, down 36% year on year.
What retailers highlighted
Harrods’ Simon Longland singled out Erdem, Roksanda, Burberry, Simone Rocha and Alexander McQueen. Bloomingdale’s David Thielebeule named Erdem, Simone Rocha and Burberry, noting less of one big trend and more individual points of view.
