Amazon opens Seller Assistant to Claude and Amazon Quick via a new plugin

Amazon has launched a Selling Partner plugin that brings Seller Assistant’s recommendations and permitted actions into third-party AI tools — first Amazon Quick and, in beta, Anthropic’s Claude. The announcement, posted on About Amazon by Mary Beth Westmoreland, vice president of Worldwide Selling Partner Experience, says sellers can connect Amazon listing, inventory, sales and performance data in roughly a minute without sharing credentials outside Amazon’s OAuth flow.

What sellers can do

Seller Assistant, built on Amazon Bedrock with Anthropic Claude models, already has hundreds of thousands of active users and recommendation acceptance above 90%, Amazon says. New continuous workflows can monitor inventory, pricing and account health around the clock under seller-defined guardrails, with full audit trails. Through the plugin, an external agent can draft actions such as pricing changes or restock plans; Amazon stresses that sellers review and approve before anything executes on the store.

Rollout and pricing extras

The plugin is in beta for sellers in Amazon’s U.S. stores, with international expansion planned. Primary account holders globally can claim a free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus subscription through 31 December 2026 and designate two co-workers for the same offer. Amazon says seller data stays inside Amazon infrastructure when Seller Assistant runs natively, and plugin interactions remain bounded by access limits, human approval and audit logs.

Why it matters

About 90% of selling partners already use third-party AI tools, Amazon says. Opening a controlled connector is a bid to meet sellers where they work while keeping commerce actions under merchant control — and a concrete example of agent-to-marketplace integration beyond chatbots that only answer questions.
